Eligibility — 18+. HYPE is an adults-only platform. You must be 18 or older to create an account. This is a hard requirement, not a suggestion: accounts found to belong to anyone under 18 will be removed, and that includes users between 13 and 17, who are old enough for some services but not for this one. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password secure. Don't impersonate anyone or share your login with someone else.
Your content. You own what you post. Posting it to HYPE gives us the limited license needed to store, encrypt, transmit, and display it back to you and the people you're sharing it with — nothing more.
Encryption & disappearing content. Room messages and media are encrypted client-side; we can't read them. Disappearing-message timers and confession expirations are best-effort deletion, not a guarantee against someone screenshotting or forwarding content before it expires.
Conduct. No harassment, hate speech, illegal content, spam, or impersonation. Confessions posted anonymously are still subject to these rules — anonymity protects your identity from other users, not from consequences for content that breaks them.
Moderation. We may remove content, suspend, or delete accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion, with or without notice.
No warranty. HYPE is provided "as is." We work to keep it reliable and your content encrypted in transit and at rest where noted, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service.
Changes. We may update these terms as the platform evolves; continued use after a change means you accept the update.
We collect: your email or phone number and password (for login), your birthday (to enforce the 18+ minimum above — never shown on your profile), your state/country (shown on your profile only if you choose), and whatever you choose to put in your profile, messages, and confessions. Message and media content in rooms is end-to-end style encrypted before it leaves your device. We use Supabase for our database, authentication, and file storage, and standard Web Push for notifications.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us so we can delete it.
